UP CM Yogi feels that Taj Mahal doesn’t represent Indian culture.
Taj Mahal, one of the seven wonders of world which draws millions of the tourists to India has been dropped from list of the tourist destinations published by Govt. of UP.
New booklet issued by the UP Govt. has removed Taj Mahal and instead carries name of temples from Mathura, Ayodhya and Gorakhpur in the list.
Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath had recently criticized custom of gifting Taj Mahal to foreign dignitaries as it doesn’t represent the Indian culture.
Yogi Adityanath had stated that,“Foreign dignitaries visiting country used to be gifted replicas of Taj Mahal and other minarets which did not reflect the Indian culture”.
Earlier, Yogi Government had neglected Taj Mahal by not including it in special section ‘Hamari Sanskritik Virasat’ (Our Cultural Heritage) of Annual budget for 2017-2018.
Exclusion was faced with criticism from all the sectors of nation, especially from the academicians and the historians who slammed Govt. for not promoting multi-cultural faith of the country.
