UGC to Universities: Make youth aware of sacrifices by Armed Forces for the Nation

This directive has come ahead of the Armed Forces Flag Day on December 7.

All universities across the country have been directed by he University Grants Commission (UGC) to arrange different programmes so as to generate awareness among the youth and the Students about the sacrifices made by our armed forces.

This directive has come ahead of the Armed Forces Flag Day on December 7 as per a communication by the defence ministry in this regard.

A letter issued by the UGC to the universities said that the Armed Forces Flag Day is observed every year on December 7.

This is done to commemorate the supreme sacrifices made by our valiant personnel from Armed Forces for protecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our country.

The universities have been requested to arrange functions/talks for students in their respective colleges and institutes to generate awareness among the youth about the sacrifices made by our Armed Forces and the significance of the day in our lives, the letter said.
