About the College

The Kanoria School of Law for Women established in 2018 in the campus of Kanoria College, Jaipur. The college is affiliated to Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Law University and has been approved from the Bar Council of India. The college is committed to changing the way legal education is provided throughout the nation.

About the Debate Competition

Kanoria School of Law for Women in association with Rajasthan State Human Rights Commission and Manupatra is organizing “Parley 4.0: National Debate Competition” on May 16th & 17th, 2024. The primary goal of the competition is to generate effective critical thinking on various social legal issues the students and to provide experience that is conducive to life- changing, cognitive, and presentational skills. In addition, through this debate competition the debaters will acquire unique educational benefits as they learn and polish skills far beyond what can be learnt in any other setting. It aims at helping the law graduate to see the power of deploying rational, reasoned arguments and compelling evidence in action.

Eligibility

Students pursuing law course of 3 years or 5 years duration from any University/Institute/ College approved by Bar Council of India are eligible to participate in the event. Per college/ university only 3 teams allowed to participate (selection on first come first basis).

Topic of the Debate Competition

  • Preliminary (Round 1): Influence of Social Media on Election Campaign and Results
  • Semi-Final (Round 2): Censorship on Internet is Justified
  • Final (Round 3): Digital Privacy and Human Rights

Important Dates

  • Last Date for Registration– 10th May’ 2024
  • Date of Competition– 16th & 17th May’2024

Guideline of the Event

  • Team will comprise of two participants speaking For and Against the Motion from each University /College.
  • Students from same college / university can participate as a team.
  • Students from different college / university can participate as a team.
  • Each Candidate will be allotted 3+1 minutes in Preliminary Round and Semifinal Round.
  • Each Candidate will be allotted 5+1 minutes in Final Round.
  • Rebuttal would be entertained at the discretion of judge only in the final round.
  • The medium of communication will be English only.
  • The dress code for the competition is western or Indian formals.

Registration Fees: The registration Fee is INR 300 (Rupees Three Hundred only) per team.

Awards & Certifications

  • Best Speaker FOR the Motion: Cash Prize of 4,100/- along with Manupatra Course and E-certificate
  • Runner Up FOR the Motion: Cash Prize of 2,100/- and E-certificate
  • Best Speaker AGAINST the Motion: Cash Prize of 4,100/- along with Manupatra and E-certificate
  • Runner Up AGAINST the Motion: Cash Prize of 2,100/- and E-certificate
  • Certificate for Appreciation (two): Cash Prize of 500/- and E-certificate

E-certificates will be provided to all the participants.

Note – All the cash prizes are sponsored by Rajasthan State Human Rights Commission.
